Darshan and Rishi stayed in an apartment in Mumbai, Anvitha was their regular visitor at home. They both worked for a multi-national company.

The three decided that they would not inform the parents of Ashvath about his drug addiction, instead they informed about hospitalization due to ill-health and they assured his parents that they would take care of him.

‘You guys go home and take rest, I shall be here at the hospital,’ Rishi says to Darshan and Anvitha.

‘No! You both stayed overnight admitting him to the hospital, you take rest! I shall be here until night and come back to home,’ Anvitha suggests to Darshan and Rishi.

‘Are you sure?’ Darshan asks.

‘Yes! Sure, no problem love!’ Anvitha hugs Darshan.

Darshan and Rishi left to the apartment, cooked food for themselves and Anvitha. They both got busy in their work forgetting about Anvitha. On the other hand, Anvitha stayed at the hospital albeit the hospital crew took total care of Ashvath.

‘Hey baby! How is everything over there?’ Darshan texts to Anvitha, after realizing that she is at hospital for long time.

‘Hey! It’s all okay, they’re not allowing me inside ICU,’ Anvitha replies.

‘Shall I come to pick you, do you want to come at least now or still want to stay at hospital?’

Anvitha reverts, ‘God bless your sarcasm! Please come and pick me up, I am dead tired!’

‘I shall be there in 10 minutes, see you soon baby!’

‘Love!’ Anvitha replies.

Darshan picked her up and they both reached the apartment. Rishi made a proper cup of chai for three of them. Meanwhile, Anvitha took a cold shower to get rid of her lethargy and comforted into her favorite pyjamas.

The three of them sat in their favorite balcony with a cup of chai, under the clear sky with glittering stars and the full bright moon, while the gentle breeze soothed them.

‘The weather is romantic, I guess I am the culprit between you!’ Rishi breaks the silence.

‘No! It’s not like that! We are fine, it’s okay! Now, don’t be so formal,’ Anvitha says to Rishi.

‘I know! I was just kidding!’ Rishi pulls her leg.

Acha! Why don’t you try a girl for you?’ Anvitha asks the fundamental question.

‘He is already on his way for it!’ Darshan interferes.

‘Oh! Is it? You didn’t tell me! Who is that?’ Anvitha inquires in amusement.

‘It’s just in the budding stage, I will let you know when it turns into a flower,’ Rishi assures Anvitha.

Anvitha replies, ‘Nice to hear! Am happy for you dude!’

The three shared moments of laughter as they met after long time. They shared their chunks of life from their last meeting. As they got so involved in the chat, they felt they traveled through time into the future after realizing that it was dinner time. They ordered the meal from a restaurant as they were famished.

‘At least now, can you tell me what has happened with Ashvath?’ Anvitha asks both.

‘It’s a long story!’ Rishi answers.

Anvitha says, ‘I want to know each and everything that had happened.’

‘Then, we need to time travel into the past!’ Darshan marks his sarcasm.

‘I am ready for time travel too! Let’s go!’ Anvitha says with equal intensity.

‘Okay! Then let’s go into the past, 7 years ago! Tan tan tan tan tan …’ Darshan gives a cinematic effect.

Upon finishing the bachelor’s degree in a premier university in Bangalore, the four close friends (Darshan, Rishi, Anvitha and Ashvath) moved apart to different cities in lieu of their professional work. Anvitha moved to Delhi, Darshan and Rishi moved to Mumbai and Ashvath moved to Goa.

Ashvath was an independent person who led his life from his human nature rather than by societal ethics and customs. He was very stubborn at the same time very generous guy. He worked as a software engineer in Goa and followed his passion as a freelance photographer in modelling and advertisement industry. He quickly established a good rapport with strangers and converted them into his good friends.

‘Hi!’ a text pops up on Ashvath’s mobile from Maya.

‘Hey! Wssup?’ Ashvath reverts. Maya was his colleague in office and she was also into modelling for advertisement agencies.

‘Are you free this Saturday?’

‘Yes, I am free, why?’

‘I was feeling bored during weekends. Shall we catch-up at the city center?’ Maya asks.

Ashvath answers, ‘Yes sure! See you on Saturday afternoon 😊’

Maya and Ashvath knew each other as colleagues in office for over six months but they never met. Albeit they never had a lengthy conversation, they used to check each other in office with cheerful curves on their faces. They knew that they liked each other but neither one of them tried to talk. Finally, Maya tried to have a conversation with Ashvath, not knowing the excitement levels of each of them towards other, they were excitedly waiting for Saturday.

Ashvath finished his gym on the early Saturday morning, prepared a quick bread toast for his breakfast, as his lunch was already planned with Maya. He quickly took a shower and wore his favorite formals. He adjusted his hair with gels to impress her; quickly checked in the mirror if everything was fine with his dress.

While Ashvath was quick in getting ready, on the other hand, Maya was in dilemma about her choice of dress. She asked her friend's suggestion, but later went with her initial choice. She wore a good-looking black one-piece with a stunning neck piece and glittery earrings. As the gentle breeze gusted from the windows her curls were falling in their destined places, which made her look exquisite. She checked constantly for five minutes in the mirror for final touch-ups, finally grabbed her handbag and left for city center as she was already late for few minutes.

The Primordial Soup - Drugs, Lust and Love | S01E01 The Hospital

(DISCLAIMER : The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this story are fictitious.

Anvitha finished off her work late night and hit the hay. She was a progressive working girl, pursuing research on quantum mechanics. She woke up hearing a notification on her mobile after two hours of her sleep at 3 o'clock in the morning. The text read, 'Ashvath admitted in hospital due to over dose of cocaine'.

She thought that it was her dream, rubbed her eyes to recheck the text once again. It read the same. She was startled not because of text at early dawn but because of Ashvath and drugs in same text!

She woke up immediately and founds her way into the washroom along with her mobile, to book an early morning flight to Mumbai. She was fortunate enough to get the flight at 5 o'clock in the morning from Delhi to Mumbai. She grabbed her mobile while travelling to the airport to send an email to her colleague, that she could not attend the lab due to a medical emergency to one of her friend.

The way she responded to the text, shows how much Ashvath means to her, even though he was not in touch with her for past 7 years. She cared him a lot. She wanted to see Ashvath in better positions. She could not believe that Ashvath consumed drugs, because, in her mind he was a nice guy. Many random thoughts flashed through her mind about Ashvath and drugs, but she brushed off everything not to get lost in her thoughts.

Anvitha touched down at Mumbai airport on time and rushed to the hospital to see her friend. 'What happened to him, how is he now?' she starts with a flurry of questions to Darshan.

'The doctors told that they could not confirm anything until 12 hours from now', says Rishi.

Darshan, Rishi, Anvitha and Ashvath were close friends from their bachelor's degree. They shared most of their days together in their four years of bachelor's degree life. Ashvath arranged many tutorial sessions to their friends before assignments and exams to make sure that everyone among them score well in exams. Meanwhile, Ashvath observed that Anvitha didn't concentrate much on tutorials as her entire concentration was on Darshan; she came to tutorial just to see Darshan.

On a fine day, Ashvath asked Anvitha about Darshan and she opened up everything to him about her feelings for Darshan. She also asked Ashvath to help her. Ashvath promised to help her in this context.

As time progressed, Ashvath and she became so close as friends, even more than of what she became with Darshan (yes!!! Darshan accepted Anvitha). Anvitha had a special reverence and admiration for Ashvath and it continued till she came to the hospital to see her friend.

Darshan and Rishi were worried about the escalation of usage of drugs to investigation, as the doctor warned them to control their friend just two months ago, otherwise the doctor would register a complaint for investigation on drugs! They were equally worried because, if a case is filed against him on drugs, it would ruin his career. They put everything in Anvitha's ear.

'Who is the doctor in charge of Ashvath?', she asks Darshan with a commanding voice, as his girlfriend.

'Dr. Arjun is looking after him'

'Dr. Arjun Patel ?' she enquires.

'Yes!'

'Oh! I know him. Come, let us talk to him about Ashvath', they proceed to doctors lobby.

'Hello Anvitha, how are you doing?' Dr. Arjun was elated to see Anvitha in the lobby.

'I am doing fine! How are you doing doctor?'

'I am fine too, meanwhile, why are you here? Any problem?'

'One of my friend is your patient, so I came in an early morning flight to see him.'

'Who is that?'

'He is Ashvath'

'Oh! That rouge! Why did you come to see such a drug addict, he is just arrogant!'

'Please doctor! He may be a drug addict now, but he was a nice guy, I am not aware of circumstances that made him like that. Please give me one chance, I will talk to him after he recovers and makes sure that he doesn't take drugs another time, please have belief in me!'

'No Anvitha, you doesn't know about him, he is such a bastard consuming drugs all the time. I really don't understand why are you standing for him?!'

'Please doctor, you know me very well, please give me a chance'

'Okay Anvitha, it's just for you! I am leaving him this time because of you! Take care of him!'

'Uffff!!!', they three sounded in unison in a state of relief after a heated conversation with the doctor. 'This wouldn't be possible if you are not here today,' Darshan says to her.

'Shut up! You are his friends and what the hell are you doing here when he was in that state of mind. You didn't even tell me about this mess,' she shouts at them.

'We didn't think that this would go to this extreme level, so we didn't tell to any one about this issue,' Rishi tries to calm her down.

'Now do you care to tell me what has happened to Ashvath? Why is he like this now? What circumstances pulled him this extreme?'

'It's a long story!' Darshan says in a sarcastic tone.

'It's you guys who had introduced alcohol and every bad thing to him, and now you are making sarcastic comments on him while he is suffering,' she says to them in stiffest of her tones.

'You are sounding as if we had spoiled him,' Darshan tries to counter his girlfriend.

'Just shut up your mouth and don't talk to me now!' she affirms.

Anvitha was worried about her friend on bed fighting for life. She wanted to know what made Ashvath to consume drugs. She thought that her friend went though some serious bad phases in his life during the past 7 years. She wanted her friend back in full life. She wanted to take care of him and help him in rehabilitation.
